Project Managed Renovations With a Client Portal and In-House Team

A Builder's Eye and a Designer's Eye, On Every Project

Every YOURBUILDER project carries two perspectives. A builder’s, and a designer’s. The whole team works to that standard.

Hamid Zwart, CEO and Qualified Licensed Certified Master Builder. Thirty years of building experience. 273 completed projects across Auckland (as of 2026). The systems, the data, and the accountability you read about on this page were built over three decades of refining how residential construction should work. Hamid joins your Discovery Call and stays close from first conversation to handover.

Myrthe Nitzsche, Co-Founder and Interior Architect. Honours-qualified, the first woman in the Netherlands to earn this distinction. She set the design standard the team now carries. The voice that fights for an architectural detail when the easy answer is to simplify.

Why two perspectives protect your project. Design is never sacrificed for convenience. Budget is never sacrificed for aesthetics. That dual lens is now how the whole team works. Your vision and your investment, both held.

Why Most Renovation Projects Feel Like Chaos

You call the builder. Voicemail. You visit the site and see people you’ve never met. You ask when the tiler arrives and nobody knows. This isn’t a worst-case scenario. It’s the standard across Auckland residential construction.

Communication breakdown. Personal texts and phone calls leave nothing recorded. Decisions get forgotten. Instructions get misread. Disputes become “he said, she said” with no record.

No visibility. You can’t see the schedule, the budget, or the decisions. The project happens to you, not with you.

The revolving door. A different subcontractor appears each week. Nobody knows the last team’s standards. Nobody trained in the same systems. Quality goes random. Accountability disappears.

We built a different model.

A Named, Permanent Team

Every person on your project has a name, a defined role, and a clear place in the team.

Your on-site team. Foreman (two of them — James Langdon and Stanley Yeatman): runs the site, leads quality, organises inspections, your primary on-site contact. Second-in-Charge: supports the Foreman, watches quality, trains apprentices. We bring people through the trade properly. Six to twelve months as 2IC before stepping up to Foreman. Lead Builder / Qualified Builder: task-focused, paired with apprentices, focused on craft and execution.

The build team. Jason Rodgers, Maria Stauder, George Brown, and Valera Klimovich. Apprentice Sesi Palei learns alongside them, so craftsmanship is passed down through direct mentorship.

The financial team. Marain Datulayta (Senior Quantity Surveyor & Project Manager) sits at senior level alongside leadership. That’s how seriously we treat budget accuracy. Denise Meltzer runs company administration.

The Trifecta. Hamid’s three decades of owner experience. A committed in-house building team trained in YOURBUILDER-specific systems. A wider network of subcontractors we’ve vetted and built with for years.

One Portal. Total Visibility. No Surprises.

We’ve run every project through the CoConstruct cloud portal for more than fifteen years. One shared workspace. You, the architect, the QS, and the build team all see the same information.

Real-time budget tracking. Full breakdown of every cost item, updated weekly. Every line visible. Every change reflected.

Your schedule, always current. Subcontractor dates, inspection dates, milestone markers, built-in buffers. You see when the tiler arrives without calling anyone.

No variation without your sign-off. Nothing changes on your project until you’ve seen the price and signed off, with Hamid alongside you. Once signed, the budget updates and the foreman gets notified. That’s how “no surprise bills” actually works.

Every conversation logged. Messages live inside the portal. No personal texts. No lost emails. @mentions go to specific trades, with email copies for everyone who needs them.

Visual progress, every stage. Progress photos uploaded throughout the build. Inspection documentation recorded. Purchase orders, sometimes issued six months ahead, all visible in the system.

Every material choice documented. Selections logged with prices. Options visible. Choices made before construction begins.

In Hamid’s words: “I no longer get phone calls.” Not because clients are ignored. Because the answers are already in front of you.

The People Behind the Numbers

The portal is only as good as the data inside it. Our dedicated quantity surveyor keeps the numbers honest, with cost variance against actuals running at just 1-3% versus an industry norm of 8-12%.

Marain Datulayta, Senior QS and Project Manager. Prices every job. Visits every site. Updates schedules. Matches materials to pricing. Sends purchase orders. Talks to clients monthly with budget updates. Processes every variation through the portal.

Most builders our size buy in pricing from outside. We keep ours in-house, built on years of real-site experience. Marain sits at senior level alongside leadership. See how 20 years of real project data feeds into the most accurate pricing in the market.
