From initial concepts to the final walkthrough, we lead you through the process with precision and clarity.

Conceptual design

Renovating well starts with an architect or draftsman listening to your vision. Your ideas shape a design that gives you the benefits you imagined inside an exciting concept.

Detailed drawings - Working plans.

Your architect or designer can now draft the majority of your working drawings. It may be necessary to apply for resource consent, have your site surveyed, complete a geotech report, and engage an engineer before these plans are finalised.

These detailed plans show boundaries, dimensions, material types, site contours, and drainage requirements. During this stage, a series of appointments between you, your architect, engineer, council, and YOURBUILDER may be required.

It’s still possible to make design changes and amend your plans during this stage. However, the more you know about materials, whiteware, colours, and finer details, the smoother this stage becomes.

Building consent

Once a full set of plans, details, and specifications are prepared, it’s time to submit to your local council for building consent. You’ll be given a guideline on when to expect approval. The council may request additional information before consent is granted.

The build

Once you’ve obtained building consent, your renovation is ready to begin.

During the building stage, we arrange daily or weekly meetings with you to inspect the site and make any necessary adjustments to the schedule.

When variations and changes arise, we discuss these with you and decide together how to proceed.

Completion

Once the build is finished, we inspect and complete any minor touch-ups, along with any last requests you might have.
